Meteoric 10Be, 137Cs and 239+240Pu as Tracers of Long- and Medium-Term Soil Erosion—A Review

چکیده

Isotopes of meteoric 10Be, 137Cs, 239+240Pu have been proposed as a soil redistribution tracer and applied worldwide an alternative method to classical field-related techniques (e.g., sediment traps). Meteoric 10Be provides information about long-term rates (millennia), while 137Cs give medium-term (decades). A significant progress in developing new models approaches for the calculation erosion has made; thus, we provide global review (n = 59) research articles present these three isotopes (meteoric 137Cs) markers different environments under land-use types. Understanding dynamics behaviours environment is crucial determine their usefulness tracers; discuss chemical–physical behaviour soils. The application sometimes strong limitations, suggestions on how overcome them or adapt given situation. This also shows where isotopic methods can potentially be future. lack knowledge exists particularly loess-dominated areas tillage system changed with wind erosion.
